More opportunities for Lynch-Getty Award scholarships


Congratulations to the 2012-2013 recipients of the Lynch-Getty Award! This year the number of scholarships was increased from four to six. Each of this year’s recipients was presented with a $1000 scholarship at the commencement ceremony at their high school this past June.

  • Jacob Tobias Baker-Kretzmar - Lisgar Collegiate Institute

  • Nayaelah Abdussamad Siddiqui - Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School

  • Darcie Marion McNab - Woodroffe High School

  • Dong Lai (Lily) Yang - Canterbury High School

  • Emma Elizabeth MacLean - A. Y. Jackson Secondary School

Many students are not aware of this local scholarship program available only to OCDSB high school students. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must have made a meaningful contribution in promoting cross-cultural understanding in their school and/or local community.
